The Application Your Operations Team Actually Needs

Case files, approvals, records and the steps that repeat every time — modelled as first-class entities with workflow states, automations and a query library for reporting. For the work that never fits an off-the-shelf CRM.

What Back-office Work Demands

A native record-level audit trail

Every record change is versioned and stored in S3 with the user, the timestamp and the complete change history. Versions can be compared side by side and a previous version restored directly. Infrastructure changes are separately captured via AWS CloudTrail.

Process as configuration

Workflow states, triggers, conditions and actions are configured in Stack9 Console. A service request becomes a first-class, trackable record — raised, actioned, resolved, with status and ownership.

Documents with custody you can audit

Documents Manager provides S3-backed storage with versioning, metadata, soft delete and audit. Document templates generate the files a case produces over its lifecycle.

Exceptions handled, not queued for a human

Event-driven processing on AWS SQS and EventBridge with built-in fail, retry and manual-review-queue mechanisms. Surf Life Saving’s monthly payment cycle generates tens of thousands of queued messages and hours of sustained load, with autoscaling responding to queue depth throughout.

Reporting on the same data

A query library drives operational reporting, and embeddable tools such as Power BI sit against the same entity data. Comcover pairs its claim intake with Power BI reporting and MS Dynamics CRM.

Access scoped by record, not just by screen

RBAC and row-level security govern both what the UI shows and what the back end will do — enforced at the platform level. There is no direct database access path that could bypass these controls.

From Process to Application

1

Model the records

Cases, files, approvals and reference data become entities. Data structures, REST APIs and default working screens are generated from the definition.

2

Encode the repeating steps

Workflow rules and automations handle the parts that happen the same way every time — status transitions, assignments, notifications, generated documents.

3

Connect the surrounding systems

Finance, ERP, CRM and document archives register as Connectors. Where a downstream system cannot take the load, integrations are queued and throttled so it is insulated from activity spikes.

4

Hand operation to the team

Entities, screens, automations, document templates and AI agents are configured by power users in Stack9 Console — inside your existing change-control process, not around it.

Operational Systems on Stack9

Including April9’s own delivery operation.

Record version history showing a side-by-side comparison of two versions with a restore action
Every change versioned, comparable side by side, and restorable — native to the platform, not an add-on.
April9 Deliver Portal case list showing proposals, engagement reviews and release approvals
April9 Deliver Portal — 50+ users across 15 client organisations running proposals, BRDs, UAT sign-off and release approvals. April9 runs its own business on it.
Automation configuration screen with triggers, conditions and actions
Automations, workflow rules and document templates configured in Stack9 Console, then deployed under formal change management.

Built for Work That Has to Stand Up to Scrutiny

Every record versioned with its full change history, documents held with auditable custody, permissions enforced by the platform rather than by convention, and every configuration change deployed through formal change management. The evidence your operations team needs is a property of the platform, not something you build on top of it.
